We are immediately seeking employees to join our Butchery team in Sidney, Iowa.
Our Butchery offers a friendly atmosphere in a small team environment where we can count on each other. Crew members will be responsible for various roles for harvesting and processing our premium roasting pigs. Starting wages depending on experience and education level.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
Slaughter, Harvest, Production
- Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.
- Perform standard operating procedures of production and inspection functions as directed.
- Use equipment to harvest/slaughter pigs.
- Use hand tools and knives to properly harvest and trim pork carcasses.
- Ensure product conforms to specifications.
- Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition.
- Prevent and minimize rework and/or inedible.
- Successfully complete all necessary production and technical training and skills verification as directed.
- Making pallets by stacking boxes onto pallets, preparing the pallet with cardboard slip sheets, manually shrink wrapping, and pulling/pushing pallets with manual pallet jack.
- Work with production equipment including pallet jacks and other similar types of equipment
- Utilize ERP system to ensure accuracy of product, traceability of product, accuracy of inventory, accuracy of shipments, etc.

- Return from breaks in a timely manner; notify lead/supervisor before leaving the department.

Position Overview
The Facility Maintenance Technician role keeps the plant facility and equipment running in a safe and efficient manner. This includes maintaining and repairing the building and equipment while adhering to company, USDA and food safety policies. This role will survey buildings and equipment to maintain proper operations and preventative maintenance programs to help drive operational growth and efficiency across the company. This individual will work hand in hand with the Production Support Manager and bring extensive knowledge of operating equipment, specifically for the meat industry, and maintenance of this equipment.
The Maintenance Technician position reports to the Production Support Manager. A maintenance technician resides in both our Smokehouse (Jewell, IA) and Butchery (Sidney, IA) facilities.
Our current opening is in our Butchery located in Sidney, Iowa. In this facility, we process whole roasting hogs that are distributed throughout the United States.
Key Duties for Facility Maintenance Technician:
- Manage start-up to make sure equipment is in proper operating condition.
- Diagnose equipment defects and making necessary repairs.
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot machinery, ovens, processing equipment and facilities problems as needed for production issues and efficiency
- Safely operate various maintenance shop tools including welders, grinders, etc.
- Maintain all areas of the shop, production rooms and interior/exterior of the plant.
- Troubleshoot electrical functions (i.e., motors, controls, PLC function and basic wiring)
- Confer with management and suppliers to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
